YouTube’s First Person in History, Internet Celebrity MrBeast’s Channel Subscribers Exceed 300 Million

On July 10th, in the United States, 26-year-old popular YouTuber known as “MrBeast”, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, saw his YouTube channel surpassing 300 million subscribers. This milestone solidified his position as the first YouTuber in history to reach such a remarkable number of subscribers.

According to reports from various American media outlets, Jimmy Donaldson was born in North Carolina, USA, in 1998. At the young age of 13 in 2012, he started running his YouTube channel. Initially, his videos only received an average of 1,000 views each. However, in 2017, he shot a 40-hour long video titled “Counting to 100,000,” in which some parts were fast-forwarded, but the video still lasted for 24 hours. Within days of uploading, the video garnered tens of thousands of views, marking the beginning of Donaldson’s rise to fame.

Under the stage name “MrBeast”, Donaldson’s videos are known for their high production costs and attention-grabbing stunts. He once spent $2 million to recreate a nearly 100% authentic real-life version of the “Squid Game” scene.

Reports indicate that in July 2022, the subscriber count of “MrBeast” crossed the milestone of 100 million, making him the second individual creator after Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie (Felix Kjellberg) to achieve this feat. As of October 15, 2023, “MrBeast” had surpassed 200 million subscribers on YouTube.

By June 1, 2024, “MrBeast” surpassed the Indian music label giant “T-Series,” becoming the most subscribed YouTube channel.

On July 10, 2024, “MrBeast” hit the milestone of 300 million subscribers, making him the first YouTuber ever to achieve this number of subscribers. In response to this achievement, Donaldson celebrated by sharing a screenshot on the social platform X, reminiscing, “I remember being scared when I reached 300 subscribers 11 years ago… Haha.”
