Recently, a “comedy” took place at the Gongnong Street Police Station in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province, where a man claiming to be a “leader of the Provincial Traffic Management Bureau” appeared uninvited during the mediation of a dispute by the police. He started giving orders to the police, demanding a “fair handling” of the situation. As a result, the man’s false identity was exposed, and he was detained. The incident sparked discussion online.
On October 17th, “Ping An Liaoyang” released a statement saying that on the day of the incident, police at the police station were mediating a conflict. Suddenly, a man showed up claiming to be the “leader of the provincial Traffic Management Bureau” and arrogantly tried to “direct the work.”
Surveillance video showed the man impersonating the “leader of the Provincial Public Security Bureau,” wearing a white police uniform, swaggering into the police station and saying to a police officer, “You find me the car keys, the station ordered you to call me.”
The police officer replied, “I don’t know the station you mentioned.”
Due to the numerous flaws in this “superior” who dropped out of the sky, his identity was quickly exposed, and he was immediately restrained. Subsequently, the police found fake police uniforms, fake police insignias, and even a “senior police officer” attire in his residence and vehicle. The man stated that he had voluntarily gone to the police station to “guide the work” in order to save face for a friend and himself. Yet, his ruse failed, and he was exposed. Currently, the man named Zhang has been administratively detained.
The incident sparked heated discussion online, with many netizens expressing opinions such as, “A real leader wouldn’t personally show up for such matters, even if they did, it would be through a phone call for remote command, notifying subordinates to handle it.” “If you just asked for one party to take care of it, that would be fine, but you demanded a fair treatment.” “Pretending to be too high-ranking to handle. “Mainly, his police uniform and insignia were problematic. You can tell it’s not right for a young person to be wearing a white shirt and second-level police supervisor shoulder patch.”
“Haha, there’s even a bag and a water cup holder nearby.” “Brave move. I remember once there was an incident where a group of people impersonated military personnel. You, impersonating a police officer, went to the police station? Next time you go to guide work at the courthouse, just take a few less steps, one step will do.” “This guy is truly a talent, a shame he’s not an actor.”
In fact, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred in mainland China. Previously, a man in Xi’an, Shaanxi even set up a police station and managed to swiftly respond to and efficiently resolve cases, seizing nearly a hundred cases from the police within half a year, earning over a million yuan.
After the incident was exposed, netizens commented, “The reality once again proves that fraudsters are better than the CCP,” “The six police stations combined can’t respond as quickly as him.”
In response, former professor at Capital Normal University, Li Yuanhua, previously told Dajiyuan that the existence of such phenomena indicates that Chinese society is extremely chaotic, reflecting the current state of the CCP’s disregard for the rule of law. Such a situation would not be possible in a society built on the rule of law.
