Wuxi petitioner Shen Aibin, who was wrongly sentenced three times, detained again for safeguarding rights.

Wuxi re-employment veteran Shen Aibin, who has been wrongfully sentenced three times, and Nanjing activist Zhang Ling went to the Jiangsu Provincial Government around 9 a.m. on July 3rd to request a meeting with Governor Xu Kunlin. They were taken to the Ninghai Road police station by security guards and their freedom was restricted. Currently, Shen Aibin has been administratively detained for 15 days.

Recently, there have been reports of activists from Sichuan and Jiangsu being kidnapped and missing during their travels.

On the noon of July 3rd, Wuxi activist Shen Aibin posted in a WeChat group that he and Zhang Ling had been waiting at the Ninghai Road police station since around 9 a.m. until about 12 p.m. He mentioned that a police officer from the Liangxi Sub-bureau of Wuxi Public Security Bureau brought a large number of special forces to the police station, and it was uncertain how they would proceed to persecute them.

Shen Aibin stated that he would not cooperate with the police without any legal documents.

In the WeChat group, Shen Aibin said, “They are estimated to be going through legal procedures. I want to report how I have been wrongfully sentenced three times. I have suffered from some abuses of power and unfair treatment. Please pay attention to this.”

On July 3rd, Shen Aibin and Zhang Ling went to the Jiangsu Provincial Government’s gatehouse to meet with Jiangsu provincial leaders Secretary Xinchang Xing and Governor Xu Kunlin. Later, Shen Aibin messaged, “At the provincial government, a man in black suddenly appeared at the gatehouse and pushed Zhang Ling’s left shoulder roughly, making her very uncomfortable. She felt insulted and violated. The Wuxi police said it was the Gongshu police from Nanjing. Zhang Ling was surprised, ‘Do Nanjing police have such low quality? Whether it’s Nanjing or Wuxi police, why use brute force against a nearly sixty-year-old elderly lady like me?'”

The Epoch Times reporter sent a message to Shen Aibin on WeChat but did not receive a response by the deadline.

Earlier, Shen Aibin told The Epoch Times, “I have been wrongfully sentenced three times by the Wuxi judicial scum, with the latest sentence being three years, released on April 30, 2025. I openly accuse Zhang Zhen, Vice Secretary of the Wuxi Municipal Committee for Political and Legal Affairs, Deputy Mayor of Wuxi and Director of the Public Security Bureau of Wuxi, of abusing power, favoritism, and using naked partiality and injustice to sentence me to three years imprisonment.”

In the past, Shen Aibin has provided legal assistance to local petitioners. With him being detained by the police again, petitioners have expressed their concern, inquiring about his well-being.

On the same day, there were reports of petitioners in Guang’an, Sichuan, and Yangzhou, Jiangsu, being intercepted and missing by local officials.

Petitioner Xiang from Sichuan was physically assaulted by Tang Yu, Deputy Director of Beichen Police Station in Guang’an district of Guang’an City. With officials supporting each other, she was not given a fair and just judgment. Thus, on July 2nd, she took a car to Beijing to fulfill her rights and duties under the Constitution. When the car passed through Zhengzhou Station, it was intercepted by stability maintenance personnel from Guang’an district. There is no current information available about her.

49-year-old petitioner Ge Zhengjun from Yangzhou City, Jiangsu, was kidnapped around 9 a.m. on July 2nd by a joint group of unidentified individuals from Zhangwan Street in Zhangwan District Police Station in Shiyan, Hubei, and Jiangsu. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
