Wu Yiming and Wang Rongmei Awarded by the International Leaders Foundation

The International Leaders Foundation San Francisco Chapter held a press conference in Milpitas on September 14th (last Sunday) to announce that Dr. Wu Yiming and Ms. Wang Rongmei have been honored with awards from the foundation.

Chapter President Lin Meilian stated that the foundation has long been committed to nurturing young leaders and promoting social services. This year, the two awardees recognized by the Washington D.C. headquarters are Dr. Wu Yiming, who received the “Enlightenment Award,” and Ms. Wang Rongmei, who received the “Community Service Leader Award.” She emphasized that this recognition not only acknowledges their dedication but also signifies shared community values, hoping to inspire more young people to get involved.

Dr. Chen Runwu, Chairman of the Finance Committee of the International Leaders Foundation Headquarters, attended the conference with his wife, Hou Xiuyu.

During the meeting, Dr. Chen introduced the two awardees, highlighting Dr. Wu’s achievements in inspiring youth and serving the community, which led to the establishment of the “Enlightenment Award” in his honor.

Dr. Wu Yiming, recipient of the “Enlightenment Award,” currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of San Francisco, a pastor at Agape Comprehensive Care, and the Honorary President of the United Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in North America. He has been dedicated to children’s dental education and community health for many years, providing medical services to underserved areas. In 1997, he and his wife, Lan Jiaxin, founded the Agape Dental Group, promoting the Agape Mobile Dental Clinic that offers free dental services through the nonprofit organization, Agape Asian Mission, benefiting over five thousand low-income and new immigrant individuals, showcasing a humanitarian spirit that transcends boundaries.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Wu Yiming expressed both humility and gratitude for the award. He believes that “enlightenment is the driving force of life,” acknowledging the inspiration he received from predecessors and young people, transitioning from a dentist to charity work, business, religion, and AI technology, striving to achieve social justice. He thanked his faith and community support, aspiring to continue inspiring others and collectively advancing community progress.

Ms. Wang Rongmei was honored with the “Community Service Leader Award.” She is the President of Wang Accounting Firm, the current President of the San Francisco Lions Club, serving residents and businesses for nearly 30 years. She is also a member of the California Society of CPAs and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), demonstrating profound professional expertise. She has aided multiple nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and private foundations in development and is frequently invited to speak at professional events, making outstanding contributions to both the community and professional fields.

Sharing her insights at the meeting, Wang Rongmei expressed that the recognition from ILF has placed more responsibilities on her shoulders. Despite being busy, she is always willing to contribute her expertise and serve the community. Embracing the spirit of the Lions Club, “We Serve,” she is dedicated to caring for the underprivileged and building a platform for the younger generation to understand the importance of service from an early age. She emphasized, “One person can go fast, but only together can we go far,” hoping to lead everyone forward hand in hand, creating more opportunities for the community and young people. ◇
