On July 1st, Chinese renowned actor Wu Xiubo and his company “Huolgesi Buer Culture Media Limited” with 99% ownership, added a new executed person’s information, with an execution target of over 3.61 million yuan (RMB, same below), and the executing court being the Intermediate People’s Court of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province.
Records show that “Huolgesi Buer Culture Media Limited” was established in September 2015, with Wu Xiubo holding 99% of the shares. Tianyan Risk Information indicates that the company currently has 3 executed person’s information, with the total amount reaching over 760 million yuan. Two other cases involve disputes with other producers of the TV series “The Advisors Alliance of Military Strategist Sima Yi.” Furthermore, the company was recently listed as a dishonest person to be executed for failing to fulfill a 240 million yuan case.
In November of last year, Wu Xiubo responded on Weibo regarding a forced execution of 466 million yuan, stating: “Working hard for the capital side to film, being framed by two scammers with a lot of cases on them, setting up with fake seals and contracts! Leading to bankruptcy!”
At that time, Wu Xiubo publicly accused the investment party of the TV series “The Advisors Alliance of Military Strategist Sima Yi,” the “Jiangsu Huali Culture Media Limited,” of setting up with fake seals and contracts, causing “Buer Culture” to face massive losses and himself facing bankruptcy.
The 55-year-old Wu Xiubo has appeared in several TV series such as “Before Dawn,” “The Orphan of Zhao,” “Military Strategist Sima Yi,” and gained popularity with the movie series “Beijing Meets Seattle”. With his outstanding acting skills, he has received numerous awards and is known as a top-tier in the industry.
On January 18, 2019, Wu Xiubo was exposed for having an extramarital affair by the young actor Chen Yulin, who claimed to have had a seven-year relationship with him. Subsequently, Chen Yulin, known as Chen Menglin, was sued by Wu Xiubo for “extortion” and was formally arrested. At the end of January 2021, Chen Yulin was sentenced to three years of imprisonment, with a three-year probation and fined 100,000 yuan.
Due to this “romantic scandal,” Wu Xiubo’s image collapsed and has been continuously blocked, facing censorship up to the present day.
