Women’s Federation of Orange County Celebrates Anniversary in Celebration of Mother’s Day.

The World Chinese Women Entrepreneurs Association (referred to as WCWE) Orange County Chapter held its annual celebration and Mother’s Day gratitude tea party on Sunday, May 5th at the Orange County Chinese Community Center to unite members, promote experience sharing, and discuss association affairs.

The WCWE Orange County Chapter is the 81st chapter globally, with over 60 members since its establishment a year ago. President Zhang Shuhua reviewed various association affairs and reported on achievements, expressing gratitude to the participating members for their contributions, which have led to the growth and prosperity of the chapter. She looks forward to welcoming more new members in the future.

The celebration commenced with a melodious classical music trio performance by three students from Irvine High School. Dr. Changping Chen, a preventive medicine specialist from Southern California, delivered a keynote speech on “Women’s Health” and offered on-site health consultations. Members also presented line dances, karaoke singing, and other exciting programs. Several members, along with their mothers, shared heartwarming mother-daughter stories while enjoying a beautiful large cake and delicious pastries provided by Mr. and Mrs. Fu Jinlang and Chen Shurong, the President and the First Lady of the Orange County Taiwanese Association, making the event lively and cozy.

Ms. Xiao Beiru, the director of the Orange County Chinese Community Center, was also present at the celebration. She quoted a classic dialogue from the movie “Barbie” to emphasize the greatness and challenges of modern women as wives and mothers, encouraging successful women present to strive to become better versions of themselves. Xiao Beiru expressed gratitude to the WCWE Orange County members and board members for their continual involvement in community affairs with love and passion, working to promote experience sharing among overseas Chinese businesswomen, assist in establishing strong interpersonal networks, and engage in charitable activities to give back to society.

Other attendees included: WCWE Vice President Ling Chen, Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Commissioner; Yiling Pan, International Secretary-General of the association; Yawei Zheng, Chairperson of the Southern California Branch; Qigeng Chen, Overseas Chinese Affairs Commissioner; Lin Cuiyun and Chuihuang Qiu, the Commissioner couples for Overseas Chinese Affairs; Suimei Guo, Advisory Consultant for Overseas Chinese Affairs; Zhaohua Zeng, Advisory Consultant for Overseas Chinese Affairs; Hong Chenfeng, President of the Orange County Chinese Lions Club, and Yiw Wen Yang, the Commissioner couple for Overseas Chinese Affairs; Vice President Xiaoshan Zhu, Huan Ying Hu, President of the Orange County Chinese Chamber of Commerce, along with around 50 members of the WCWE Orange County Chapter. Together, they exchanged work accomplishments and future prospects during a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon tea time, encouraging each other to continue their efforts in promoting overseas Chinese affairs. The event concluded successfully with well wishes for a Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers.
