“Will Smith earns big in the ‘Bad Boys’ series, salary increases over 10 times”

“Bad Boys 4” not only received love from the audience but also marked an important milestone for the “Bad Boys” series, with a global box office total exceeding $1 billion. A new report mentions that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence made a lot of money in the latest installment.

According to ScreenRant, Will Smith’s salary for the “Bad Boys” films increased significantly from $2 million in the first to $20 million in the second film, then dropped to $17 million in the third film before jumping to $25 million in the fourth film, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.”

At the same time, Martin Lawrence also earned a high income. He received $6 million for the first film, $4 million more than Smith, and $20 million for the second film, matching Smith’s salary. However, his pay dropped to $6 million in the third film, highlighting the unpredictability of Hollywood salaries. Lawrence is expected to earn between $6 million and $15 million for the fourth movie.

Sony Pictures’ “Bad Boys” series has released four films so far, including “Bad Boys” (1995), “Bad Boys II” (2003), “Bad Boys for Life” (2020), and “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.”

According to Box Office Mojo, the production budgets for these four films were $19 million, $130 million, $90 million, and $100 million respectively. The global box office revenues to date are $141 million, $273 million, $425 million, and $218 million, with the box office revenue for the fourth installment still increasing. The films have received audience freshness ratings on Rotten Tomatoes of 78%, 78%, 96%, and 97% respectively.

With “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” breaking the $100 million mark at the North American box office last weekend, Sony has already begun planning the fifth installment, and Smith is once again teaming up to produce the thriller “Resistor.”

Since Smith starred in the first “Bad Boys” film in 1995, he has appeared in a series of popular sci-fi movies, including “Men in Black,” “Independence Day,” “I, Robot,” and “Gemini Man,” which have brought him higher pay due to their success.
