The New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) reminds the public that due to construction on certain sections of the subway and Long Island Railroad, the Flushing–Main St subway station on the 7 line will not be served from 9:45 pm on October 24th until 5 am on the 27th.
During this period, 7 line trains will still operate between 34 St–Hudson Yards and Mets–Willets Point, with a frequency of approximately every 8 minutes during the day and night. To assist commuters, MTA is providing a free shuttle bus on the T321 line between Mets–Willets Point and Flushing–Main St.
MTA stated that this track replacement project is aimed at improving train operation efficiency and passenger safety, laying the groundwork for stable service in the future. As the construction affects the busy Flushing terminus area, carrying out the work on weekends can reduce the impact on commuters and students.
It is important to note that this is not a one-time closure. MTA indicated that this service change will continue every weekend until November 24th. For individuals planning to visit Flushing for shopping, dining, or events, it is advisable to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time.
For residents who frequently travel between Queens and Manhattan, this period may bring some inconvenience. MTA advises passengers to check the official website or use the MTA App before departing to stay updated on the latest train schedules and avoid any travel disruptions.
