According to a report from the New York Post on June 12, Republican lawmakers revealed that Neville Roy Singham, a billionaire living with his wife in Shanghai, China, is being summoned by a congressional committee for allegedly funding radical groups involved in the Los Angeles riots.
Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna stated that the congressional committee will investigate Singham’s connections with the Communist Party of China.
Singham will be required to testify about his funding of multiple non-profit organizations, including anti-Israel groups and Marxist groups such as the “Socialist and Liberation Party.”
The “Socialist and Liberation Party” has recently been actively organizing and participating in protests against immigration enforcement in Los Angeles. However, there is no evidence yet linking them directly to the violent riot incidents in the area.
Earlier this week, Luna posted in all caps on X platform, saying, “If he refuses to appear in court, he will be subpoenaed; if he ignores the subpoena, he will be prosecuted by the Department of Justice.”
In April of this year, the Senate Judiciary Committee urged the Department of Justice to investigate the “People’s Forum” and “Code Pink.” Singham’s wife, 70-year-old Jodie Evans, is a co-founder of the anti-war group “Code Pink” and serves on the board of directors of the “People’s Forum.”
Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and Republican Senator from Iowa, Chuck Grassley, said, “Evidence shows that both the ‘People’s Forum’ and ‘Code Pink’ received funding and influence from Singham and the Communist Party of China, both of which are foreign entities. Evidence also indicates that these organizations directly engage in activities promoting the political and policy interests of the Chinese (CCP) government.”
Singham, 71, born in Chicago, is a software entrepreneur. Despite living in China, he continues to funnel large amounts of money to some organizations in the United States.
Although they deny working for the CCP, evidence shows that they and the propaganda network “Maku Group,” which promotes CCP ideology globally, use the same office location.
