Warning Signs of a Major Event? US Congressman: Washington’s “Pizza Index” Through the Roof

Recently, New York State Assemblyman Ben Geller posted on social media suggesting that the “Pizza Meter” in Washington D.C., the capital city, has shown a significant increase. This implies that the workload and overtime hours at government institutions like the Pentagon have surged, hinting at a possible major event on the horizon.

Geller took to the X social media platform (formerly known as Twitter) on August 3, writing, “The Pizza Meter has gone off the charts, and the ‘bars’ near the Pentagon in Washington D.C. are empty. Be prepared.”

Accompanying his message were several images illustrating a notable increase in pizza sales near the Pentagon, while bar businesses have sharply declined.

The post has garnered over 12.45 million views to date. (Click here to view the post.)

The term “Pizza Meter” originated in the early 1990s, tracking the volume of pizza deliveries to assess the overtime situation at government departments, predicting potential actions by the U.S. military.

Frank Meeks, who owns 60 Domino’s Pizza franchises in the Washington D.C. area, told the Los Angeles Times in 1991, “The news media may not always know when something big is coming because they’re asleep, but our delivery guys are out there at 2 a.m.”

Meeks recalled that on the night before Iraq invaded Kuwait, the CIA ordered over 20 pizzas.

His “Pizza Meter” theory successfully predicted several historical events, such as the Gulf War. Prior to the outbreak of the Gulf War, the number of pizzas ordered daily by the White House surged from less than 50 to 125.

After Meeks publicly disclosed the “Pizza Meter,” the U.S. government ceased ordering large quantities of pizzas from the same pizzeria and instead sent people to various establishments for collection.

In April of this year, following Iran’s drone and missile attacks on Israel, the “Pizza Meter” also saw a significant spike.
