Warm the elderly with singing: Cheerful girl Zhang Yahan fundraises love dumplings

This year, Zhang Yahan, who has been promoted to vice-captain of the “Rakuten Girls” cheerleading team, completed her first solo concert at the end of last year. Today (May 17), she brought her new single to visit three elderly day care centers and elderly service centers in Taipei, and also served as the ambassador for the Red Heart Organization, raising love and donating rice dumplings to disadvantaged families.

Born into a single-parent family and now 28 years old, Zhang Yahan has always yearned for love. She once wished to get married and have children by the age of 20, and have her own family. She said that as she grew older, she realized that because she didn’t know what love and a family model were, she didn’t know if she understood “love.” She always felt empty inside, and only through working hard every day to earn money could she feel satisfied and feel she was living.

However, Zhang Yahan also feels that due to working in Taipei, she cannot often be with her family. In the past, when she missed her family, she would silently think about them in her heart. Now, she takes action, such as making video calls, sending messages, or making time to reunite with her family.

Recently, her colleague Lin Xiang from the same management company joined the “Rakuten Monkeys” (joining the Wei Chuan Dragons), which initially made her feel a little lonely, but she also said she quite enjoyed it. Because of her busy life at the stadium, she either dances or jumps on the field, and at one point she even thought she had moved to Taoyuan.

In addition, the company has also signed Takahashi Kahori from the Rakuten Golden Eagles cheerleading team. Zhang Yahan said, “I have a companion now, I have a Japanese junior sister.” Apart from communicating with her junior sister using body language and basic Japanese words, Zhang Yahan also teaches her to sing her song “I Can Stop Thinking About You.” Although she is not yet familiar with Takahashi Kahori, she plans to introduce her to some Taiwanese cuisine.

Passionate about music and singing, Yahan plans to continue pursuing a career as a singer in the future. Besides releasing albums, she also hopes to hold another ticketed solo concert. Additionally, she will be hosting a new program in the future, teasing everyone by saying, “I’ll keep you guessing, so stay tuned!”
