Wall Street Bigwigs Support Trump’s Counterterrorism Policy, Praise Pence’s Debate Performance

In a recent interview on Wednesday, key figures from Donald Trump’s transition team expressed their thoughts on the first presidential debate between Trump and Hillary Clinton. The co-chair of Trump’s transition team and a Wall Street titan believed that while Clinton’s performance exceeded expectations, Trump’s performance was on point in every aspect.

The interview took place during Cantor Fitzgerald LP’s annual charity day, a day that commemorates the 658 employees who lost their lives during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Howard Lutnick, the CEO and billionaire of the company, shared his insights on the presidential debate, the 9/11 events, and the upcoming U.S. election with Fox and Bloomberg news agencies.

Lutnick acknowledged Clinton’s performance, stating that she did well, but he also pointed out that she should engage more in media activities to articulate her policies and views clearly. He noted that Clinton did not address the issue of inflation during the debate.

Regarding Trump, Lutnick praised his performance in the debate, stating that every aspect of Trump’s argument was strong. He expressed his belief that debate moderators should refrain from making solely pro-Clinton remarks, suggesting that it would have been better if they remained impartial.

As someone who lost his brother in the 9/11 attacks, Lutnick emphasized the importance of eradicating terrorism. He cited Trump’s tough stance against Islamic extremism as a reason for supporting him, hoping that Clinton aligns with Trump’s position on this critical issue.

When asked about the possibility of Trump engaging in another debate with Clinton before the November election, Lutnick stated that the decision ultimately lies with Trump himself.

Expressing his support for Trump, Lutnick stated, “We all have our viewpoints, but clearly, I enjoy Donald Trump’s debating style. If he decides to participate in another debate, I would be delighted. He knows that I stand by his side.”

Lutnick also encouraged Clinton to hold more press conferences, answer questions, and present her genuine thoughts to the American public. He believed that people need to hear Clinton’s opinions and understand her stance instead of her remaining reserved and not being as publicly visible.

In conclusion, Lutnick commended Trump as a fearless leader and expressed his confidence in Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. election.
