Vin Diesel Hopes to Return to Los Angeles to Film “Fast & Furious 11”

Hollywood action movie superstar Vin Diesel, who plays “Dom Toretto” in the “Fast & Furious” series, recently announced on Instagram his plan to shoot “Fast & Furious 11” in Los Angeles in an effort to help boost the local economy that has been hit hard by wildfires. Fans showered him with praise in the comments, lauding his warm-hearted gesture and expressing excitement for the movie’s release.

Vin Diesel revealed on Instagram that Jordana Brewster, who plays the role of Mia Toretto in “Fast & Furious 11,” recently contacted him, urging him to pressure the studio, Universal Pictures, to move the remaining filming to Los Angeles. She informed him that “Los Angeles now needs this movie more than ever.” Vin Diesel also wrote, “Los Angeles was where the ‘Fast & Furious’ series began filming 25 years ago, and now ‘Fast & Furious’ is finally returning home.” It is reported that “Fast & Furious 11” will be the final chapter of the series.

Previously reported, due to a strike by the American actors’ union in 2023, the release date of the final installment of the series, “Fast & Furious 11,” which was originally scheduled for April 4, 2025, has been pushed to the summer of 2026. Despite director Louis Leterrier mentioning in an interview last May that filming was set to begin in the fall of that year, Jordana Brewster did not receive any information about when production for “Fast & Furious 11” would start until last November.

The recent devastating wildfires in Hollywood have left many celebrities homeless and caused a halt in entertainment activities. The upcoming filming of “Fast & Furious 11,” scheduled for March 2, has become even more challenging, with some even calling for the Oscars to be canceled. As for the progress of “Fast & Furious 11,” it is currently uncertain, and the release date of the movie is expected to be changed once again.

Born in California in 1967, Vin Diesel gained recognition at the Cannes Film Festival in 1999 for a short film he wrote, directed, and starred in. He caught the eye of renowned director Steven Spielberg and went on to appear in war film “Saving Private Ryan,” followed by starring roles in the “Fast & Furious” and “Pitch Black” series, skyrocketing his fame and making him a sought-after Hollywood star.
