Vice Presidential Candidate Waltz “Acknowledges” Past Slip of the Tongue.

On October 6, the countdown to the US presidential election entered its final 30 days. Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz made his first appearance on a Sunday news program, attempting to address criticisms of his stance on abortion rights and “admitting” past missteps.

During his interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Walz discussed topics such as the situation in the Middle East, abortion, and the economy.

When asked by the host about whether Israel had the right to preemptively attack Iran’s nuclear and oil facilities in response to a missile launch from Tehran towards Israel, Walz did not provide a full answer during his vice presidential debate with Pence.

Walz stated that “specific actions will be dealt with as events unfold” and emphasized that “there will be consequences for what they do.”

He said that Israel has the right to self-defense and noted that Harris had been working with Israel in the past week to fend off attacks from Iran. President Joe Biden stated last week that he would not support Israeli strikes on nuclear-related sites in Tehran.

Walz also defended a law he signed as governor that protects abortion rights, stating that the law “empowers women and their healthcare providers to make decisions.”

Regarding the economy, Walz mentioned that Harris’s proposals will help build 3 million new homes and expand tax breaks for parents to make middle-class life more affordable. He also pointed out that Trump’s tariff policies could increase costs for a typical family by around $4,000.

During the interview, Walz also faced questions about his military service, arrest for drunk driving, infertility treatment for his family, and a claim of making erroneous remarks in Hong Kong before the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989.

He said, “When I misspeak, I will admit it. When I make mistakes, I will admit them.”

The host mentioned that Trump has openly supported fertility treatments and stated that abortion issues should be decided by individual states.

Walz had previously claimed that he was in Hong Kong a month before the Tiananmen Square massacre and taught in China for a year afterward. However, media reports from that time indicate that he was in Nebraska when the massacre occurred and traveled to China in August of that year.

The presidential election is now in its final 30 days. Harris and Walz are ramping up their media campaigns, hoping to attract public attention.

Harris has recorded an episode of CBS’s “60 Minutes” program set to air on Monday night. She will appear on three shows on Tuesday, including Howard Stern’s satellite radio show, ABC’s “The View,” and CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Her interview on the podcast “Call Her Daddy” is scheduled to be released later on Sunday. Walz will appear on Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC show on Monday.
