Vice President Shao Maofeng of China Construction Bank Gansu Provincial Branch Falls from Power.

Recently, it was officially announced that Shao Maofeng, the Deputy Head of the Gansu Branch of China Construction Bank, has been placed under investigation. This year, several officials from the bank have been investigated and removed from their positions.

On August 16, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervision Commission of China announced that Shao Maofeng, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Gansu Branch of China Construction Bank, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently undergoing disciplinary review by the central inspection team of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervision Commission stationed at the China Construction Bank, as well as investigation by the Supervision Commission of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province.

Public information shows that Shao Maofeng has worked at the Gansu Branch of China Construction Bank for many years, representing the bank in external research and participating in signing activities. In March 2019, the Gansu Banking and Insurance Regulatory Bureau approved Shao Maofeng’s qualification as Deputy Head of the Gansu Branch of China Construction Bank, a position he has held for over 5 years.

Shao Maofeng has also worked at the Shenzhen Branch of China Construction Bank, holding positions such as General Manager of the Business Department, General Manager of the Investment Banking Department, General Manager of the Strategic Customer Department, and General Manager of the Group Customer Department.

According to the “China Fund News,” at the end of 2014, the then President Wang Ye and others from the Shenzhen Branch of China Construction Bank visited a club, with Deputy Head Li Huafeng, Zhao Zhiran, Shao Maofeng, and others from the Shenzhen Branch of China Construction Bank also attending the event. Wang Ye, Zhao Zhiran, and Li Jianzhang have since been investigated and removed from their positions or expelled from the party and had their retirement benefits revoked.

On February 7 of this year, Li Huafeng, former Deputy Head of the Shenzhen Branch of China Construction Bank, was also investigated.

In addition to Li Huafeng and Shao Maofeng, several other officials from China Construction Bank have been investigated since the beginning of this year. On July 19, Zhang Shiqiang, former Deputy Head of the Guangxi Branch, was investigated; on July 13, Peng Jiabin, former Deputy Head of the Jiangxi Province Branch, was investigated; on May 9, Tong Wentao, former Deputy General Manager of the Asset Management Business Center of China Construction Bank, was also investigated.
