Vice Chairman of the Daqing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC and Secretary of the Zhaoyuan County Committee, Chi Weixi, has been placed under investigation for suspected serious violations of discipline and law.
According to a report released on June 26 by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission, Chi Weixi, a member of the CCP Committee and Vice Chairman of the Daqing Municipal Committee, as well as the Secretary of the Zhaoyuan County Committee, is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Heilongjiang Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commission.
Public information reveals that Chi Weixi was born in April 1969 and had worked in Daqing City for a long time. He has held various positions, including as Chief of the Secretariat Department Three of the Municipal Government Office, member of the Party Committee of the City Urban Management and Administrative Enforcement Bureau, Deputy Head of the Discipline Inspection Team of the Municipal Discipline Inspection Commission stationed in the City Urban Management and Administrative Enforcement Bureau, member of the Party Committee of the City Urban Management Commission, and Head of the Discipline Inspection Team of the Municipal Discipline Inspection Commission stationed in the City Urban Management Commission. He also served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Ranghulu District Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, among other roles.
In May 2016, he was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Zhaoyuan County Committee; in April 2017, he was promoted to the position of County Magistrate of Zhaoyuan County; and in 2020, he took over as the Secretary of the Zhaoyuan County Committee. In 2022, he was appointed as Vice Chairman of the Daqing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, while concurrently serving as the Secretary of the Zhaoyuan County Committee, before the recent investigation.
Public reports indicate that just three days ago on June 23, Chi Weixi presided over the 70th meeting of the Seventh Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Zhaoyuan County Committee of the Communist Party of China.
