Vaccine Victim Tan Hua Controlled at Home, Parents Arrested for Upholding Rights.

According to the vaccine victim Tan Hua who revealed to Epoch Times, her 78-year-old mother, Hua Xiuzhen, was arrested in May for her activism. Letters sent by family members were confiscated, and multiple complaints made no progress.

On April 3, 2024, Tan Hua and her mother Hua Xiuzhen went to the Zhejiang Provincial Government to appeal the cancellation of Hua Xiuzhen’s pension from Ningbo University. They were criminally detained. Tan Hua was released on bail on May 10, but Hua Xiuzhen was arrested. Tan Hua was then escorted back to Shanghai for supervision and was illegally detained at home with six security guards at the door.

Tan Hua said, “My mother is detained in Hangzhou Detention Center. When she was admitted, her blood pressure exceeded 200mmHg. The Zhejiang government forcibly detained her in order to maintain stability, disregarding her critical health conditions. Authorities in Shanghai’s Huangpu District stopped providing her meager monthly relief funds upon learning of this inhumane treatment.”

“My mother in the detention center lacks living expenses, and even the toilet paper she uses daily is borrowed from others due to her inability to walk normally because of knee effusion and ligament tear. She now faces life-threatening conditions such as irregular heartbeats and atrial fibrillation, and has been transferred to the prison hospital. Most infuriatingly, the Hangzhou Public Security Bureau did not provide any arrest notification to the family, and letters sent normally were confiscated by the detention center.”

Epoch Times contacted the Hangzhou Detention Center, and the prison guards declined to disclose any information about the detainees, stating that the local police station would notify the family if necessary.

Attempts to contact the Hangzhou Public Security Bureau via phone were unsuccessful.

Hua Xiuzhen is a retired teacher from Ningbo University, who has received accolades for her excellence as a homeroom teacher. She has been facing suppression for years due to her activism on behalf of vaccine victims, including her daughter Tan Hua. Her retirement pension and medical insurance payments have been suspended by Ningbo University, despite her multiple health issues that make walking difficult, she continues to face oppression.

Tan Hua is a master’s graduate from Fudan University and previously served as a deputy general manager in a company. In 2014, after being bitten by a dog, she was disabled following the administration of a vaccine produced by Chengdu Kanghua Biotechnology Co., Ltd., which was in a trial phase in Shanghai. The vaccine caused lasting effects, such as demyelinating encephalopathy, severe allergies, epilepsy, hearing impairment, and severe brain atrophy, leading to frequent seizures and the loss of her job. As a result of the oppression she faced in seeking justice, she has developed mental health issues and relies on medication for stability.

Tan Hua appeals to the public to support her critically ill mother Hua Xiuzhen by donating funds for her living expenses in the detention center. All donations will be used for the care and necessities of her mother.
