US Homeland Security ICE Unveils New Vehicle Fleet to Boost Recruitment and Promotion

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the United States made a high-profile appearance on Thursday (August 14th) via video conference to showcase a newly revamped fleet of vehicles for its sub-agency, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This marked one of the flashiest public displays by the agency since its establishment in 2002.

The DHS launched this high-profile promotional campaign on its official X account with professionally produced videos, showcasing the vehicles in all their glory with the caption “We will take back our country.”

In the video, the deep navy-colored SUVs and pickup trucks were adorned with red and gold stripes, prominently displayed with large gold “ICE” lettering on the sides and slogans like “Defend the Nation,” while the rear of the vehicles featured an embossed gold “President Donald J. Trump.”

Close-up shots depicted the new fleet cruising through the streets of the nation’s capital, passing famous landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building, and the White House.

The video played DaBaby’s rap song “TOES” with lyrics like “My heart is so cold I think I’m done with ICE, Uh, brr,” conveying a sense of commitment to ICE that cannot be changed.

This display marked a departure from the agency’s traditionally low-key law enforcement approach, where officers typically patrol in plain clothes.

The video was shared on X and included a link to ICE’s recruitment website JOIN.ICE.GOV. Within a few hours, it had already been viewed nearly 200,000 times.

According to reports from the agency, they have received 100,000 job applications so far.

The ICE recruitment website showcases the attractive benefits offered to new recruits, including competitive salaries, paid federal holidays, and comprehensive federal benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, and a Thrift Savings Plan similar to a 401(k) for federal employees. Other benefits include tuition reimbursement, transportation subsidies, remote work options, and access to fitness centers.

As the new fleet was unveiled, President Trump temporarily took charge of the DC Metropolitan Police Department for 30 days, deploying additional federal law enforcement in the capital. The DHS stated that ICE is collaborating with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the National Guard to strengthen patrols in the metropolitan area, stationing checkpoints in the city to combat high crime rates, apprehend illegal immigrants, clean up homeless populations, and restore normal life order in the capital.

Public reactions to the video released by DHS on X platform on Thursday were mostly positive, with responders including veterans, law enforcement personnel, and their family members expressing support. One user commented, “Great job! Keep up the good work! Thank you for protecting us!”
