US Department of Agriculture says “Really like The Epoch Times” at press conference

On Tuesday, July 8, US Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins presided over a press conference to launch the “National Farm Security Action Plan” in response to foreign infiltration and bio-terrorism threats. During the press conference, Secretary Rollins not only answered questions in detail, including those from reporters, but also spontaneously exclaimed, “I really like Epoch Times!” This unexpected moment became a highlight of the event.

Joining the press conference were Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, several congressmen, and many governors.

During the event, Epoch Times reporter Jackson Richma asked, “Considering the national security aspect of this initiative, can you confirm if Secretary of State Rubio was consulted? Additionally, considering the bio-terrorism aspect, was the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also involved in the consultations?”

Secretary Rollins replied, “Both institutions were involved. The process to get to this stage was as complex as making sausage. It’s not just a simple plan and everyone shows up. It requires thorough review and coordination among various agencies, which is crucial.”

“In my time in politics, I’ve learned that progress may not always be visible because it involves integration, collaboration, and significant effort from our team to advance this work,” she emphasized. “All relevant agencies were consulted, and reaching this stage today required strong support from everyone.”

She thanked the Epoch Times reporter for the question, saying, “I also want to take this opportunity to express my thanks for your question. Today is just the beginning. This announcement is the first step, and in the coming years, we will continue to invest in this critical work. You will hear about our progress frequently, and we will establish authentic metrics to measure our effectiveness. I believe this sets apart the current administration from previous ones.”

In conclusion, she remarked, “Thank you for being here. I really like Epoch Times!”
