US Crime Buster Night Debuts Today.

The annual “National Night Out”, a nationwide event aimed at combating crime, will simultaneously take place across the United States on the evening of August 5th. The New York City Police Department precincts corresponding to the Chinese communities in Flushing, Fresh Meadows, and Bayside, namely the 109th, 107th, and 111th precincts, will join hands with the local communities to host a variety of activities to promote police-civilian cooperation and enhance community safety awareness.

109th Precinct:
Time: 5pm to 8pm
Location: Bowne Playground (Intersection of Barclay Ave and Union St)
Activities: Free recreational facilities, food, live entertainment, raffle prizes, and more.

111th Precinct:
Time: 6pm to 9pm
Location: 242-02 61st Avenue (Douglaston Shopping Center)
Activities: Prizes, free food, DJ performances, balloon clowns, family fun activities, and booths providing domestic violence and crime prevention services.

107th Precinct:
Time: Starting from 6pm
Location: Electchester Shopping Center (70-63 Parsons Blvd, Fresh Meadows, NY 11365)
Activities: Music, BBQ, games, free flashlight distribution organized jointly by the Community Boards of the 107th and 112th precincts with the slogan, “Only together, can we make our communities safer.”

Since its establishment in 1984, the “National Night Out” has become one of the largest community safety promotion events in the United States. It aims to attract a large number of local residents to participate, unite community forces, and build a safe home together.
