The Nixon Library in Southern California hosted a “Citizen Education Series” event on November 3, featuring 35-year-old conservative leader Michael Knowles as the keynote speaker. Knowles, known for hosting “The Michael Knowles Show” podcast, attracts millions of listeners daily.
He is also a host at the “Daily Wire” and his book “Reasons to Vote for Democrats” topped the bestseller list in 2017. In 2021, he continued his success with the publication of “Speechless”. The event drew a full house of attendees, including high school and college students. Many young people raised their hands to ask questions, with one girl even bursting into tears because she didn’t have a chance to ask.
In August of this year, Knowles became the first podcaster to attend a cabinet meeting and report from the White House. The meeting lasted over 4 hours. Analyzing President Trump’s major policies and positions from an “inside perspective” in his 1802nd podcast episode, Knowles emphasized the importance of negotiations in politics.
Regarding foreign affairs, Knowles believes that Trump constantly negotiates and adjusts positions for strategic interests. He emphasized economic pressure over military escalation and reiterated a stance of avoiding world wars. In a hearing on “Political Violence Attacks: Threats to Our Constitutional Order” held by the Senate Judiciary Committee on October 28, Knowles spoke about left-wing terrorism, citing recent incidents.
Knowles witnessed left-wing extremism firsthand during a debate on transgender issues at the University of Pittsburgh in April 2023. Protesters outside the event engaged in violent acts, leading to injuries among police officers.
Knowles testified about the incident, highlighting the escalating left-wing terrorism and the need to address this growing threat to the country’s safety.
He warned about the rise of left-wing extremism in the country and urged the government to take action against such acts of violence.
At the same time, the Nixon Library tightened security, with Orange County police officers monitoring the event. Knowles touched upon Nixon’s presidency, stating that history may not repeat itself but sometimes rhymes.
Knowles emphasized the importance of interpreting current events thoughtfully and applying principles to evolving situations. He discussed the various factions within both the right and left wings of politics and their differing approaches to governance.
Regarding the future of conservative movements post-Trump era, Knowles stressed the need to learn from history, adapt to challenges, and stand against threats to democracy.
He offered advice to a 17-year-old on how to become influential in politics, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and independent thinking before stepping into public life.
The Nixon Foundation announced a fundraising campaign to revitalize civic education for students from elementary to high school levels. They aim to reshape the way students learn about democracy through initiatives like the American Civics Academy.
In October, the Smiths, founders of Service Champions, donated $1 million to support civic education initiatives, emphasizing the importance of attention to detail in customer service.
