On Saturday, August 30, on the eve of the so-called “September 3rd” military parade by the Chinese Communist Party, a group of Chinese organizers in Flushing held an exhibition in front of the central library showcasing the historical truth of the resistance against Japanese aggression by the National Revolutionary Army of the Republic of China. The organizers stated that this action was a response to the shameless “September 3rd military parade” where the Chinese Communist Party distorts the truth and shamelessly claims credit for the victory against Japanese aggression, while also informing mainland Chinese people who have been brainwashed by the CCP about the true historical facts.
The exhibition organizers, the “ROC National Army Veterans Care Center,” displayed descriptions of the 22 battles the National Army fought against Japan on the wall to present the current situation of former army veterans who stayed on the mainland.
The organization’s introduction stated: “The unprecedented brutal resistance war against Japan by the Chinese nation has been victorious for 80 years. However, due to the shameless deception and propaganda by the CCP, claiming that ‘the Communist Party was the mainstay of the anti-Japanese war,’ and that they ‘led the Chinese people to defeat the Japanese invaders,’ these outright shameless lies, many people are unaware of the truth of the resistance war.”
“In the 13-year resistance war, the Chinese people paid a price of 35 million military and civilian lives, including 3.2 million National Army soldiers, among whom over 200 were generals. The National Army soldiers engaged in 22 battles with the Japanese aggressors involving over 100,000 troops, 1,117 medium-sized battles, and over 39,000 small-scale battles. Out of the 200,000 graduates from the Whampoa Military Academy, 190,000 sacrificed their lives…”
Chairman of the ROC National Army Veterans Care Center and descendant of a National Army veteran, Hu Fuqing, told reporters that they had been preparing for this truth exhibition for over a year, gathering material from various sources such as online data, veterans, and their descendants, and finally launched the exhibition two months ago.
“Our goal is to let the world know who the mainstay of the resistance war really was—out of the National Army’s 22 major battles, where was the Chinese Communist Party? While the National Army soldiers were shedding blood on the front lines, the Communist Party was hiding in Yan’an, quietly growing, and after the victory of the resistance war, they came down from the mountains to ‘pluck peaches,’ stealing the fruits of victory…” Hu Fuqing said. “Our second goal is to respond to the CCP’s September 3rd military parade. We want to slap the CCP in the face with historical facts: Japan surrendered to the ROC National Army! What qualifications do you have for a military parade on September 3rd, the day of Japan’s surrender?!”
Hu Fuqing mentioned that they faced threats from the Chinese Embassy due to the exhibition, but he remained steadfast in revealing the truth because “it is my responsibility and duty as a Chinese person,” he said.
This sentiment was echoed by new immigrant volunteer Qiu Yuyun, who stated, “When we come overseas, we must do something concrete because the lies told by the Chinese Communist Party to the Chinese people must be exposed.”
Another volunteer, Sun Chuan, expressed, “The Communist Party has never had legitimacy from the beginning. The ROC National Army was the mainstay of the resistance against Japan, and the Republic of China is the legitimate government of China, possessing full legitimacy.”
