Unveiling the New Song “16 Squats”, Energy Concert Adds Kaohsiung Venue

Taiwanese boy group “Energy” returned to the music scene this year and sparked a dance craze with their “16 Squats” dance routine. Following the sold-out concerts at the Taipei Arena for their “Ready to Ignite” tour, it was announced on the 24th that they will be performing at the Kaohsiung Arena on September 7th and 8th.

This will be Energy’s first performance in Kaohsiung in their 22 years since their debut, and each of the five members is excited and looking forward to it, saying, “Our fans in southern Taiwan have waited so long.”

Milk expressed his happiness, saying, “Last year, we performed at Mayday’s concert in Kaohsiung and had our comeback reunion, which led to everything that followed. I remember after the show last year, the next day I took my wife and kids to Qijin Island on a ferry and spent the whole day there.” Shu-wei said, “I can’t wait to do the 16 Squats with the whole audience!”

As the Taipei Arena concert approaches, the five members of Energy have already started preparing for the concert, with continuous physical training. Ah-di follows a low-carb diet and does weight training three times a week. Milk wears a mask while dancing, which helps enhance his cardiorespiratory capacity.

In addition to intense fitness training, Shu-wei has intensified his singing lessons, strictly avoids staying up late, continues his interest in playing with his cat to relieve stress, and Kun-da has increased his physical activity significantly to maintain a lean and muscular physique. Toro does Tabata workouts and runs every day while reducing fried foods and sweets in his diet. The five members are putting all their efforts to present themselves in the best shape on stage.

Furthermore, Energy’s new song “Friday Night” has sparked the “#Friday Night Challenge” on social media, where people from all walks of life have been posting videos of themselves doing the 16 Squats challenge, including celebrities, office workers, gym trainers, and housewives. Recently, firefighters in Chiayi successfully completed the 16 Squats challenge carrying 25 kg of firefighting equipment.
