Tsinghua School of Economics and Management, with former Vice President of the CCP State Wang Qishan serving as the honorary chairman of the advisory committee, has been embroiled in controversy as its dean has been impersonated for a long time without the impostor being caught.
On June 22, The Paper reported that numerous netizens had reported that a WeChat public account named “Haining Shangchuan Business Development Co., Ltd.” had posted an article claiming that on the morning of that day, the signing and awarding ceremony for the Zhejiang Branch of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management was held at Haining Shangchuan Business Co., Ltd., with representatives from Tsinghua University and the business community in attendance.
The article mentioned that Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management Dean, Cao Yulei, and Tongsheng Culture Chairman Tao Yunfeng had completed the strategic signing and branch awards ceremony. Guests such as the Xinjiang Branch Dean Ren Yulin shared experiences of cross-regional cooperation on-site.
Netizens reported that the Dean of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management is supposed to be the renowned economist and Tsinghua University Humanities Professor, Professor Bai Chongen, and they have never heard of anyone named “Cao Yulei.”
The Paper stated that on the evening of the 22nd, it was confirmed from authoritative sources that the supposed “Dean Cao Yulei of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management” is fake, and the actual dean of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management is Professor Bai Chongen. There is no individual named “Cao Yulei” among the teaching staff of the school.
Reportedly, “Cao Yulei” has recently been publicly engaging in activities as the “Dean of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management” and “Dean of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management.” A company called Shengzhou Zhongcheng Security Service Co., Ltd. released a message on an industry website called Zhejiang Security Network in May this year, claiming that Dean Cao Yulei of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management visited the company for inspection and guidance on April 28.
In another article titled “Tsinghua Senior Executive MBA Spring Class Opening Ceremony Concludes,” “Cao Yulei” appeared again as the “Dean of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management” and “President of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management Alumni Association.” The tuition fee for the so-called “Tsinghua Senior Executive MBA (Building Industry) CEO Executive Class” is 62,000 yuan.
According to a question and answer on the webpage of Baidu Zhidao, there is information about the relationship between “Cao Yulei and Tsinghua University,” stating that “Cao Yulei is the executive dean of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, employed by Tsinghua University, and the two are in an employment relationship.”
When Epoch Times reporters checked Baidu Zhidao, they did not find the above question and answer, raising suspicions that it might have been deleted.
In response, mainland Chinese netizens commented:
“Causing such a stir, holding such a large meeting, it turns out that Dean Cao Yulei of Tsinghua is fake, it’s unbelievable! There are so many people who bluff with courage!”
“Haha! What a mess! And no one called the police?”
“If it’s really a fake, then it’s fraud, why is the impostor roaming free with no one overseeing?”
Tsinghua School of Economics and Management is widely believed to have close ties with the CCP’s “Zhu (Rongji) Wang (Qishan) faction.”
On October 25 last year, the 2024 meeting of the Advisory Committee of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management was held at the school, where former Premier Zhu Rongji entrusted Tsinghua University President Li Luming to convey his greetings to the committee members and special invited experts. Former Vice President of the State Wang Qishan has taken over from Zhu Rongji as the honorary chairman of the advisory committee of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management and hosted a dinner for the attendees. Zhu Rongji’s son and former CEO and President of China Jin…
