Unidentified Drones Spotted over Three US Air Force Bases in the UK

In a recent development acknowledged by the United States and the United Kingdom, unidentified drones were spotted flying over three American Air Force bases in Britain over the past week.

According to a statement released by the U.S. Air Force in Europe on Monday, during the period from last Wednesday to Saturday, these unidentified drones were observed flying over the RAF Lakenheath Air Base, RAF Mildenhall Air Base, and RAF Feltwell Air Base, all of which are utilized by the U.S. Air Force.

The statement mentioned, “Base leadership confirmed that these airspace intrusion incidents did not have an impact on base residents or critical infrastructure.”

The U.S. military stated that the number and types of drones varied each time they appeared, with differing sizes and configurations.

“For operational security reasons, we do not discuss specific force protection measures, but we reserve the right to protect our facilities,” stated the U.S. Air Force in Europe, emphasizing that they will continue to monitor these airspaces.

These military bases are predominantly used by the United States, with RAF Lakenheath being the only base in Europe for the U.S. F-35/F-15 fighter squadron.

According to reports from CNN, informed sources revealed that around five to six drones were involved, and their activities appeared coordinated.

Sources indicated that U.S. defense officials are still investigating the origin of these drones, but they do not appear to be hobbyist drones.

A spokesperson for the UK Ministry of Defence stated, “We take threats seriously and maintain robust measures at defense sites, including anti-drone security capabilities.”
