Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau announced at 5:30 PM today (October 1) that the center of Typhoon Sandra was located over the southwestern waters off Kaohsiung, gradually moving northward to north-northeast. Its typhoon radius has already made landfall in southern and eastern Taiwan, posing a threat to areas south of Changhua, Nantou, Hualien, Taitung, and Penghu. It is expected that the typhoon will slightly weaken in intensity, and the public is advised to stay vigilant and prepare for the typhoon.
