Two stabbing incidents in one night in Los Angeles raise safety concerns about public transportation again.

On Monday evening, two stabbing incidents occurred on the Metro (Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority) public transportation system, once again raising concerns about the safety of riding the Metro.

According to FOX LA, the first incident took place on a Metro bus in Glendale. Police said around 7 p.m., three teenage suspects attacked and stabbed a teenage passenger, possibly in an attempt to steal his backpack.

The bus stopped near Los Feliz Boulevard, close to a hospital. The three suspects then fled the scene. Shortly after, two of them were detained and handed over to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for investigation.

About an hour later, at a train station in South Los Angeles, a woman was stabbed in an elevator. Investigators said the victim is believed to be a passenger and the perpetrator is a male.

The suspect fled the scene and boarded a train headed to Hawthorne. It is currently unclear whether he has been apprehended.

The injured woman was taken to a local hospital, and her condition is currently unknown. Police investigation is still ongoing.
