Trump’s Political Action Committee Seeks Young Voters on TikTok

A super political action committee (PAC) that supports President Trump is venturing onto TikTok in a bid to attract young voters. This marks the first entity affiliated with Trump’s campaign to join the popular video-sharing social media platform.

The PAC, “Make America Great Again Inc.,” abbreviated as MAGA Inc., has now launched @MAGA on TikTok. Officials associated with this PAC told Fox News that TikTok will serve as another social media channel for distributing Trump’s campaign messages, providing quick responses, and supporting his 2024 election efforts.

TikTok has become a focal point in the political arena as its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, faces a deadline to sell off the company’s shares in order to avoid a ban on selling its app in American app stores. TikTok is suing the federal government over this measure backed by Republican lawmakers in Congress and the White House.

With over 170 million American users on the platform, TikTok boasts a significant audience from Generation Z and Millennials, making it a vital battleground for both Trump and Biden in their efforts to court young voters during the upcoming election in November.

Taylor Budowich, CEO of MAGA Inc., stated in a release that “with millions of voters on TikTok, we are not here to make policy; we are here to win elections.”

Budowich noted, “Major tech companies, including Google and Facebook, are actively interfering in our elections, which is an unfortunate reality. However, we will not concede any platform to Joe Biden and the Democrats who seek to destroy our nation.”

He added, “We will ensure that President Trump’s America First agenda is spread to every corner of the internet, to every district in this country.”

Despite previously opposing a TikTok ban, Trump has voiced concerns about the app while in office. He has consistently criticized other social media companies, including Meta Platforms which owns Facebook and Instagram.

Biden’s decision to sign the “either divest or silence” law has garnered criticism from young voters and influential figures on application platforms, including those who promote content supporting his reelection.

Due to national security concerns, the app is not allowed on government devices, yet Biden’s campaign team maintains a TikTok account.

The law prohibits coordination between Trump’s campaign team and his super PAC. It remains uncertain whether Trump’s campaign team will establish its own account on TikTok, but according to The Washington Post’s report on Wednesday, advisors are discussing this possibility.
