On August 21st in the afternoon, Sebastian Gorka, Deputy Assistant to President Trump and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council, delivered a speech at the renowned Washington, DC think tank, the Heritage Foundation, emphasizing that the primary goal of their counterterrorism mission is to protect the innocent and bring villains to justice, rather than targeting individuals based on their political affiliation.
Gorka mentioned that out of the five priority missions in President Trump’s counterterrorism strategy for his second term, four are still classified.
He explained that the counterterrorism strategy for President Trump’s second term is based on the concept of “sustainable counterterrorism” proposed during the first term of the Trump administration.
Upon entering the White House on January 20, 2025, Gorka wrote down the five national priority missions for counterterrorism on a whiteboard in a classified intelligence room, with four of them remaining classified to this day.
One of the missions that has been declassified involved the capture of the mastermind behind ISIS, Jafar, who was responsible for the “Abigail massacre incident” resulting in the sacrifice of 13 brave soldiers. Gorka revealed that the Trump administration managed to apprehend Jafar in just 41 days.
Gorka highlighted the administration’s success in eliminating 272 jihadist militants who had killed or planned to kill Americans globally, as well as rescuing 72 American citizens within less than seven months.
He stressed the importance of separating politics from counterterrorism efforts, condemning the misuse of intelligence powers and foreign surveillance laws for political motives.
Gorka emphasized the significance of teamwork and commitment to national security, pointing out a shift in the atmosphere within the current government compared to the first term administration.
The team consists of individuals like Kash Patel overseeing the FBI, Pam Bondi in charge of the Department of Justice, John Ratcliffe leading the CIA, Tulsi Gabbard serving as the Director of National Intelligence, among others, all united by their love for the country and dedication to getting things done.
Expressing hope that terrorism would no longer pose a strategic threat to the United States under President Trump’s leadership and with the support of allies and partners, Gorka mentioned collaborative efforts between the leaders of the US and various countries to combat common threats.
He underlined the willingness of the US to work with like-minded allies towards shared goals of security and prosperity, signaling the end of an endless war mentality and a commitment to cooperation over intervention.
Gorka’s message extended to countries worldwide, inviting them to join forces with the US for mutual security and prosperity, emphasizing a cooperative approach in tackling shared threats.
