Today’s focus: Secret Service breaks up Chinese espionage network! Trump furious and makes a major shift; without naming names, criticizes Xi Jinping, and condemns Europe turning into hell.
Guests on the show: Mr. Henghe, host of “Henghe Commentary”; senior media person, Li Su. Hosts: Jinshi, Fuyao.
President Trump mentioned that on Tuesday (23rd), he had scheduled 30 meetings in one day, with the meetings extending into the midnight hours. Trump pointed out that several U.S. allies were acknowledging Palestine despite Hamas’ refusal to release Israeli hostages or accept a ceasefire, which he described as a “reward” for Hamas’ terrible acts.
During the United Nations General Assembly, Trump and Zelensky engaged in a sideline meeting. Subsequently, President Trump released a “truth post” in the afternoon of the 23rd, stating that he believes Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, has the ability to overcome all challenges and reclaim the territories occupied by Russia. This stands in stark contrast to his previous mediation during the Russia-Ukraine war.
He said: “With time, patience, and financial support from Europe, especially NATO, returning to the pre-war borders is entirely feasible. Why not do it? Russia aimlessly fought for three and a half years, a truly powerful military country should have been able to win in less than a week. This did not make Russia stand out. In fact, it made them look like a ‘paper tiger.'”
Mr. Henghe, before the meeting between U.S. and Ukrainian leaders, a reporter asked Trump whether NATO should shoot down Russian drones entering EU airspace. Trump believed it was necessary and should be done. How do you observe President Trump’s attitude, is this a significant shift?
In his speech on the 23rd, President Trump extensively discussed the energy issue, pointing out that while multiple European countries resist Russia’s actions in the Russia-Ukraine war, they continue to purchase Russian oil, which is considered a form of support. Trump bluntly stated, “We must stop buying all energy from Russia, otherwise we are all wasting a lot of time.”
Since the Russia-Ukraine war, although the EU has significantly reduced its dependency on Russian energy, it remains the largest buyer of Russian pipeline natural gas.
Up until September 2025, European countries, especially EU member states, continue to purchase Russian oil, mainly natural gas and some oil and oil products, without completely halting imports.
Additionally, Russia accounts for 34% of the EU’s fertilizer imports in the second quarter of 2025, becoming the largest importing country, which increased by 6% compared to the period before the Russia-Ukraine war in 2021.
Mr. Li Su, President Trump mentioned during the sideline meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky that Russia’s economy is in a state of “collapse in progress,” and he repeatedly mentioned Russia continuously funding the war through energy sales. Will European countries heed President Trump’s advice and cease energy trade with Russia? What are the reasons European countries continue to do so? Where lies the crux?
President Trump, when addressing the energy issue, also criticized green energy, referring to it as too expensive, requiring vast land for wind power installation, and stating that “renewable energy” is a joke, while “climate change” is the biggest global deception in history, with China and Europe’s push for wind power and global clean energy policies being a myth.
President Trump stated, “The main impact of green policies is to relocate manufacturing from developed countries to pollution-prone countries.” He addressed over 150 national leaders present, warning that failure to break free from this green deception would lead to their countries’ downfall because “carbon footprint is a hoax created by deceitful people.”
It is well-known that Chinese leader Xi Jinping is a staunch supporter of new energy, often incorporating “dual-carbon goals (peak carbon, carbon neutrality)” in his speeches. Xi Jinping has been vigorously developing the new energy industry across mainland China. Last year, he promoted emerging industries like electric vehicles, solar panels, and lithium-ion batteries as the so-called “new three pieces,” branding them as “new quality production forces” and exporting them to overseas markets.
Mr. Henghe, unexpectedly, President Trump publicly referred to this as a “hoax.” When the United Nations broadcasted Trump’s speech, they also gave a camera angle to the Deputy Ambassador of the Chinese Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Ambassador Geng Shuang. Why did Trump emphasize this at the UN General Assembly, wouldn’t this cast a shadow over the Trump-Xi meeting at the APEC summit in October?
On the 23rd, President Trump also touched on another issue, which can be considered a political achievement, stating that there were no more illegal immigrant invasions at the southern border of the United States, significantly reducing to “zero.”
He urged European countries that continue to accept refugees, stating, “It is time to end the failed experiment of open borders. You must end it immediately. I am very good at this. Your country is descending into hell. Your country is being destroyed.”
Mr. Li Su, while illegal immigration undoubtedly brings many social problems, would a large influx of illegal immigrants truly destroy a country? If Europe continues its current policies without changes, what do you anticipate will happen?
During the United Nations General Assembly, the U.S. Secret Service announced on Tuesday (September 23) that it had recently dismantled a large-scale electronic equipment network operating in the New York metropolitan area.
The Secret Service reported finding a total of 300 SIM card servers and over 100,000 SIM cards at over five locations spread across several abandoned apartment buildings. Officials pointed out that these servers were powerful enough to disrupt cellphone signal towers, even launch Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, interrupting emergency communication services (EMS) and law enforcement mobilizations, including emergency communications.
These devices were concentrated within a 35-mile radius from the United Nations building in New York City.
Secret Service Director Sean Curran stated, “The potential disruption caused by this equipment network to the U.S. telecommunications system cannot be underestimated.”
According to law enforcement sources, the telecom plot was discovered during routine protection operations for the President and his family by the Secret Service. Officials believe this plot is associated with the Chinese government.
Secret Service officials stated they are currently refraining from discussing the details of the case, both due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and the international sensitivity surrounding the case.
Mr. Henghe, this case is unconventional. Previous Chinese hacker attacks targeted U.S. government departments or individuals online; however, this equipment network is physical and located at the heart of the United States, namely, in the greater New York metropolitan area, inside some abandoned apartment buildings. The blatant nature of this presence is shocking. If this is indeed orchestrated by the Chinese government, what do you think their aim might be by surreptitiously installing this equipment?
Mr. Li Su, previously, the U.S. government expressed national security concerns regarding Chinese electric vehicle imports, suspecting that China may install remote control devices on electric vehicles. At a critical moment, China could remotely shut down electric vehicles driving on American roads, causing traffic gridlocks. The exposed network equipment in this case has the capability to disrupt cellphone signal towers and eventually lead to the shutdown of New York City’s cellular network, incapacitating communications. Is this part of China’s unrestricted warfare strategy?
Follow-up: In a world closely interconnected in information, technology, and economy, is it more challenging for democratic countries to prevent infiltration and attacks by authoritarian states? What measures can democratic nations take to block such pervasive invasions?
In the past few days, the biggest news in the U.S. has been the assassination attempt on conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and its subsequent developments. Last Sunday, Kirk’s memorial service was grandly held in Arizona, and the scene was moving, with participants delivering poignant speeches. Many people argue that Kirk’s death may be a turning point for America, perhaps sparking a revival of conservatism and traditional values.
We have just discussed the cross-border suppression by the Chinese Communist Party. In fact, we also hope that China, with its 5000 years of civilization, can soon break free from the rule of communist authoritarianism and usher in a true revival of national culture.
Epoch Times columnist Wang Youqun recently wrote an article titled “200,000 mourn Kirk and three major inspirations for China.” The author believes that the American mourning for Kirk holds three inspirations for China: 1. Faith is the most important; 2. The cycle of hatred and violence must be broken; 3. Marx’s poisonous legacy must be thoroughly eradicated.
Mr. Henghe, the United States and China are obviously very different in their overall environments. In contemporary China, freedoms of belief, speech, and assembly are severely suppressed. In your opinion, what are the implications of the Charlie Kirk incident for China?
Mr. Li Su, in a closed information environment, it is even more difficult for the public to spontaneously disseminate common sense, truths, beliefs, and voices that promote intellectual awakening. Do you think China might produce a “Chinese version of Charlie Kirk”?
