Trump: Musk has no time to join the cabinet but can be an advisor.

Former President Trump of the United States has indicated that if he were to be re-elected president, Elon Musk may not be able to serve as a cabinet member in his administration. Trump mentioned in a recent interview excerpt from the podcast show “Shawn Ryan Show” that Musk, the billionaire running multiple companies, might only be able to serve as his advisor due to his busy schedule.

Trump stated, “He wants to come in. Now, he’s running big companies and all of those things, so he can’t, really, I think. I don’t think he could be necessarily a member of the cabinet.”

During the interview on the podcast hosted by former Navy Seal Shawn Ryan, Trump expressed, “I would certainly have him in the cabinet. But I don’t know how he’d do it because he’s got so much to do.”

However, Trump also mentioned that the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX could potentially serve as an advisor, influencing the functioning of the government. “He could advise, give you some really great ideas as he says,” Trump added.

This comment from Trump came after he recently expressed considering Musk to be a cabinet member or advisor. Trump told Reuters last Monday that if he wins the November U.S. election, he would consider appointing Musk to a prominent role in his administration.

In the interview, last Monday, Trump was asked the same question and he replied, “He’s a very smart guy. If he wanted to do it, I would certainly consider. He’s very talented.”

During this election cycle, Trump and Musk have set aside their past differences and formed an alliance. Following an attack on Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13th, Musk quickly endorsed Trump and pledged full support for the former president’s return to the White House.

Musk has also expressed willingness to provide advice to the government. Earlier this month, he stated during an interview on his social media platform X, “I think it would be great to establish a government efficiency committee. I’d be happy to help with such a committee.”

Ryan announced on X platform that the full version of Trump’s latest interview will be aired on Monday at 12:30 PM Central time, and can be watched on the YouTube channel of “Shawn Ryan Show.”
