Trump issues Easter statement, wishes for a day filled with peace and joy.

On Easter Sunday, a significant holiday, President Trump issued a statement wishing everyone a happy Easter and hoping that this day would bring “peace and joy” to all celebrants.

“Melania and I wish everyone a happy Easter! Whether you are heading to church or watching the service at home, may this day be filled with peace and joy for all those celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. God has risen!” President Trump said on his social media platform “Truth Social” on Sunday.

The President also expressed his wishes for America to become stronger on this important holiday. “Together, let us make America greater, better, stronger, wealthier, healthier, and more devout than ever before!!” he stated.

First Lady Melania offered blessings to the American people on Friday on social media platform X. She said that as Good Friday approaches, she wishes for the American people to have a Easter filled with “hope and faith”.

President Trump also addressed the start of Holy Week on the previous Sunday on “Truth Social”, wishing a happy and prosperous holiday to Christians everywhere. He remarked, “The suffering and sacrifice of Jesus on the cross show us God’s endless love and devotion for all humanity.”

With God’s help, the President expressed that “we will make our country stronger, safer, greater, more prosperous, and more united than ever before”.

In his 2025 Easter week presidential address from the White House, President Trump stated, “We will firmly defend the rights of religious freedom and uphold the dignity of life.”

“This week… we pray that America will continue to be a beacon of faith, hope, and freedom to the world, praying for a future that reflects the eternal kingdom of Christ, one of truth, beauty, and goodness.”

President Trump signed an executive order on February 7, establishing a White House Faith Office to enhance faith-based entities’ capabilities. The White House mentioned that this was in fulfillment of Trump’s promise to Christians.

On April 21, the White House will hold an Easter Egg Roll event on the South Lawn. According to the White House website, this year marks the 147th continuation of this tradition, dating back to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1878.

The planning of the Easter Egg Roll event is usually the responsibility of the First Lady, who incorporates her tastes and interests into the event. Melania expressed on Friday, “I look forward to seeing everyone with smiles on Monday, adding brightness to this memorable day.”
