On June 16, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled a new communication service named “Trump Mobile,” emphasizing “Made in America” hardware devices and telecom networks. The service is set to debut with a $499 American-made smartphone later this year.
According to reports from Bloomberg, Trump’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump announced the plan at the Trump Tower in New York on Monday, coinciding with the anniversary of Trump’s announcement of his presidential campaign for the 2016 election a decade ago.
“We collaborate with the industry’s finest teams to ensure real Americans derive tangible value from communication services,” stated Donald Trump Jr. He added, “Trump Mobile will reshape the market rules, created in support of the ‘America First’ movement.”
Trump Mobile operates as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), utilizing the infrastructure of the three major U.S. telecom companies (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) and offering 5G services. Their flagship plan, named “The 47 Plan,” costs $47.45 per month, symbolizing Trump’s roles as the 45th and 47th President of the United States.
The plan includes unlimited texting in over 100 countries/regions globally, telemedicine functionality, roadside assistance via “Drive America,” device protection features, and a 250-seat customer service center nationwide.
Furthermore, Trump’s group plans to launch a new $499 “T1 phone” in August, positioned as a “golden, high-performance smartphone designed in America for users pursuing ultimate quality,” featuring the U.S. flag engraving.
The Capitol Hill Report noted criticisms that, despite Trump’s children currently leading Trump’s group business, some view this move as over-commercialization by exploiting the presidential status.
Traditionally focused on real estate and hotel industries, Trump’s group has recently expanded into the tech sector, including the 2022 establishment of the social platform “Truth Social” and cryptocurrency investments, now adding the “Trump Mobile” communication service.
DTTM Operations LLC, under the Trump group, has applied to register “Trump” and “T1” trademarks with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), covering phones, phone cases, battery chargers, wireless phone services, and potential retail stores.
Donald Trump Jr. remarked, “Our company is rooted in America because we know this is what customers expect and deserve.” He also emphasized that this service will cater to communities previously “neglected” in the communication field.
