Trump gives Putin 50-day deadline on U.S. aid to Ukraine

On Monday, July 14th, President Trump of the United States stated that if an agreement to end the war between Russia and Ukraine is not reached within the next 50 days, he will impose approximately 100% tariffs on Russia. He also confirmed that the United States will be sending weapons to Ukraine. There are reports suggesting that Trump may also authorize the transfer of long-range attack missiles to Ukraine. However, the United States will not provide assistance for free; NATO will be responsible for the expenses. NATO will fund the purchase of weapons from the United States, and then NATO will decide where to deploy these weapons.

In the early hours of July 9th, Russia launched a record-breaking attack on Ukraine, deploying 728 drones and 13 missiles to heavily bombard various regions of Ukraine. A report from the Ukrainian National Defense Intelligence Agency in June 2025 revealed that Chinese electronic components in the Altius-2 drones had increased from 30% in 2023 to 65%, making China the largest source of components for the drones.
