Trump agrees to resolve conflict with North Korea

On Friday, June 27, President Trump responded to media reports regarding his letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, stating that he will resolve conflicts with North Korea and mentioning his good relationship with Kim Jong-un in the past.

During a press conference in the Oval Office of the White House, Trump said, “If there is a conflict, I get along very, very well with him (Kim Jong-un), and we will resolve conflicts with North Korea. I have had a good relationship with Kim Jong-un all along. So let’s see what happens. If anyone suggests that conflicts may arise, I believe we can defuse them. If there is a conflict, it will not involve us (the United States).”

NK News, a website specializing in tracking North Korean developments, cited insiders in June stating that the North Korean UN mission in New York has repeatedly refused to accept letters personally written by President Trump to Kim Jong-un, sparking social concern.

In response, the White House stated that the President is “willing” to maintain communication with Kim Jong-un but did not confirm whether any letters have been sent.

President Trump did not directly respond to reporters’ questions on Friday but mentioned, “My relationship with Kim Jong-un is very good, we really get along very well. Let’s see what happens.”
