Trump: Agreement Reached with UK is “Comprehensive and Complete”

On Thursday morning, US President Donald Trump (Donald Trump) expressed on social media that the agreement reached with the United Kingdom will be “comprehensive and complete.” He also hinted that more agreements with other countries will follow.

Trump said on his social media platform “Truth Social”, “The agreement reached with the United Kingdom is ‘comprehensive and complete’, and it will strengthen the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom for many years to come. Due to our long history and loyal relationship, I am honored that the United Kingdom is the first partner we will announce.”

“Many other agreements are in serious negotiations and will be coming!” Trump said.

“For the United States and the United Kingdom, this should be a very important and exciting day. Press conference will be held in the Oval Office at 10 am. Thank you!” President Trump said in another post on Thursday morning.

The President stated on Wednesday that a major trade agreement had been reached with a “respected great nation”, which would be announced at 10 am on Thursday. However, he did not reveal the name of the country at that time, nor did he specify the scope or details of the agreement. However, media reports quoting sources familiar with the matter revealed that a trade agreement between the US and UK would be reached on Thursday.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has consistently emphasized that the United States is an indispensable ally for the United Kingdom. He is expected to provide the latest news on the US-UK trade agreement later on Thursday.

According to Reuters, a British official previously stated that it is expected that the UK will ensure that the US lowers some steel and automobile tariffs; in return, the UK may agree to reduce tariffs on US automobiles and cut the digital sales tax levied on US technology companies.

The US currently imposes a 25% tariff on all imported cars, steel, and aluminum. The 25% tariff has severely affected the luxury car sector that exports to the US from the UK. Jaguar Land Rover suspended car exports to the US for a month and is considering how to mitigate the impact.

Starmer has established a good relationship with President Trump, and the UK government will celebrate being the first country to reach an agreement with the Trump administration.
