Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru recall over 90,000 vehicles.

Due to issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, over 90,000 Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru vehicles are being recalled.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated that Toyota Motor Corporation is recalling 94,320 vehicles, including some bZ4X and Lexus RZ models from 2023 to 2025; while Subaru is recalling the Solterra model. The defrost and defog systems in these vehicles may fail, reducing the driver’s visibility and increasing the risk of accidents.

According to the NHTSA, malfunctions in certain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including failures in the electric compressor, could lead to the failure of the defrost and defog systems.

The recall notice mentions that the HVAC system of the vehicles can be updated to address this issue.

The recall identification numbers are as follows: Toyota models with numbers 25TB07 and 25TA07, Lexus models with numbers 25LB04 and 25LA04, and Subaru model with the number WRD-25.

Owners of the affected vehicles can visit their dealerships to have the HVAC control software updated free of charge. The NHTSA added that the staff will also inspect the electric compressors and replace them if necessary.

Toyota Motor Corporation will send notification letters to the owners, with these letters expected to be mailed out by October 20th.
