Tom Cruise Films “Mission: Impossible 8” – Gets Dizzy While Flying Outside Suspended Airplane

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, 62, is about to enter the final chapter with the upcoming release of “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”. On the 8th, he shared a behind-the-scenes video on IG, showcasing himself hanging in the air from a flying plane with only two ropes, a thrilling sight. He revealed in an interview that he briefly fainted during the filming process.

In the footage posted on IG by Tom Cruise, scenes of extreme thrill were presented: Tom Cruise, portraying Ethan Hunt, was suspended on the wing of a 1930s Boeing Stearman biplane. Through the lens of director Christopher McQuarrie, it can be seen that Tom Cruise was only tied with two thin steel cables resembling fingers, descending from a height of ten thousand feet, and the perfect shot earned praises from Christopher McQuarrie.

According to reports, this scene was filmed in South Africa. Despite filming the 8th installment, 62-year-old Tom Cruise still refuses to use a stunt double and personally handles all the scenes.

Regarding the filming experience, Tom Cruise admitted in an interview with the renowned British movie magazine “Empire” that when the plane was flying at a speed of 120 to 130 miles per hour, it was impossible to get oxygen, so he had to train himself on how to breathe. “But during filming, I fainted at one point and couldn’t return to the cockpit.”

The “Mission: Impossible” film series, which debuted in 1996, is now nearly 30 years old. Tom Cruise, who had been living mainly in the UK for five years, finally completed filming “Mission: Impossible 8: Deadly Reckoning” last year. After enduring five years of “long business trips,” he returned to the US only last October. Due to the initial outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tom Cruise was unable to travel to Italy as planned to shoot the 7th and 8th installments of “Mission: Impossible,” so the production team had to move to a studio near London to ensure his stay in the UK for five years.

The cumulative box office of the series up to the 7th installment in 2023, “Mission: Impossible – Deadly Reckoning,” has reached nearly $3.6 billion, making the final chapter particularly noteworthy. During the opening day of the Super Bowl, February 9th, a series of movie advertisements were shown, including “Mission: Impossible 8”. The director said that many of the film’s stunt scenes are sure to “melt the brain” of the audience. Tom Cruise expressed his hope that this would be a satisfying conclusion to the entire 30 years of the “Mission: Impossible” storyline, bringing excitement and satisfaction to fans worldwide.
