According to the website of discount department store T.J. Maxx, the company is set to open six new stores in multiple states this August.
These new store openings come at a time when hundreds of other department store chains, including Rite Aide, Monro, Kohl’s, and Macy’s, are closing their doors.
T.J. Maxx is renowned for selling discounted name-brand products and is a part of the TJX Companies, which also owns brands like Marshalls and HomeGoods. The department store offers a wide range of products, from clothing and beauty items to home goods and holiday decorations.
In May of this year, after achieving impressive sales performance, CEO Ernie Herrman stated, “I believe that the strengths, flexibility, and resilience of our discount retail business model will continue to deliver good results for us in today’s macro environment, similar to our long and successful history.”
In the same month, Herrman announced a long-term plan to increase TJX’s store count by at least 1,300.
Here are the addresses and opening dates of the new stores:
– Washington D.C.: Located at 5300-B Wisconsin Ave NW, opening on August 28th
