“People generally assume that summer recruitment slows down significantly, but aside from occasional declines due to holidays, most companies across industries are still hiring, including for remote work,” said Keith Spencer, a career expert at FlexJobs, in an interview with “CNBC Make It.”
Spencer added that if you apply for jobs in the summer, your chances of landing a remote position are higher because “some of your competitors may temporarily pause their job search.”
To make your remote job application stand out, regardless of the time of year, Spencer suggests networking with employees of the target company.
“You want to build relationships with the people you hope to join in the future within the team,” he said. “Establishing a good relationship with your potential boss or colleagues can give you a significant advantage.”
