In Guangdong Lianjiang, another tragic mass murder case has occurred, where a 36-year-old woman, her mother, and her two-year-old son were brutally killed. The head of the two-year-old child was nearly severed. The perpetrator committed suicide after the crime. The motive behind the killings is currently unknown. This news quickly made it to the top of the trending list on April 17th.
According to a report from Shenzhen News, recently, Ms. He, a resident of Zhanjiang City in Guangdong, reported that while her sister-in-law was temporarily staying at the maternal home in Dongying Village, Lianjiang, a villager named Ye rode a motorcycle into the yard and fatally stabbed her sister-in-law (36 years old), her sister-in-law’s son (2 years old), and her sister-in-law’s mother (70 years old).
On April 16th, Ms. He stated that the prosecutor’s office had taken over the case.
Ms. He disclosed that the slain sister-in-law had recently given birth and her elder son was about to turn two years old.
On the night of March 27th, in order to celebrate her elder son’s second birthday, the 36-year-old woman who was later killed went to her maternal home with her two children. At around 7:45 pm that night, the villagers of Dongying Village in Lianjiang City were startled by screams coming from a house. It was then discovered that a family of three had been killed.
At that time, Ye rode his motorcycle into the woman’s house and headed straight to the room where the woman and her elder son were. He indiscriminately attacked them with a knife, nearly decapitating the young boy, who died on the spot. The woman, shocked by this sudden attack, though also injured, managed to run to the courtyard to seek help. Ye followed and relentlessly attacked her, causing her to succumb on the spot.
Meanwhile, the woman’s mother was in another room looking after her three-month-old baby. Upon hearing the commotion, she came out and encountered Ye, who brutally killed her as well.
Fortunately, the woman’s youngest son, who was asleep in the room, was not discovered by Ye and escaped unharmed.
After committing the murders, Ye realized he could not go on living and decided to end his own life, but was stopped by villagers who arrived at the scene, leading to his arrest by the police.
“A suspected person did not succeed in suicide and was apprehended at that time,” a village cadre who participated in the follow-up work after the incident said, adding that there was no information about existing conflicts between the two families.
Online users have raised doubts about this, questioning whether just a few words from village officials can calm public anger after such a brutal murder case. They insist that justice must be served for the victims and the perpetrator should not be let off lightly.
Furthermore, some netizens question the significance of the village committee, stating that they are unaware of its purpose and role, claiming it lacks presence in such incidents.
