On June 8, a traffic accident occurred in Shanxi, resulting in 3 fatalities and 6 injuries, all of whom were elderly people aged 70 and above.
According to reports from various mainland Chinese media outlets, on the afternoon of June 8, a truck accident took place in Qucun Town, Quwo County, Linfen, Shanxi, where several pedestrians on the roadside were hit. The accident resulted in 3 deaths, with 2 people dying on the spot and 1 person succumbing to injuries despite medical efforts. Additionally, 6 individuals sustained injuries, with 2 in mild condition and 4 suffering various degrees of bone fractures. Currently, all of them are receiving medical treatment.
Witnesses revealed that the victims of the accident were all elderly individuals, ranging from the youngest at over 70 years old to the oldest at over 80 years old. The driver of the truck involved has been detained by the police, while the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.

On April 26, 2024, a Huawei Wanjie M7 electric car was involved in a traffic accident in Yuncheng, Shanxi, where it rear-ended a water spray truck on the highway, leading to a fire and ultimately causing 3 fatalities. According to descriptions provided by the families of the deceased, the emergency braking system failed to activate, the A-pillar deformed (the front pillar connecting the windshield to the roof of the car), the airbags did not deploy, and the car doors could not be opened. As a result, the driver’s brother, husband, and son, all seated in the back of the car, tragically burned to death inside the vehicle.
On May 29, 2023, a traffic accident occurred on Maquan Road in Xuangang Town, Yuanping City, Shanxi, involving a collision between a white car and two trucks. Among the 5 occupants in the car, only the front passenger survived, while the other 4 individuals lost their lives at the scene.
Videos circulated on the internet showed that the accident took place at an intersection, where the white sedan made a left turn and was violently struck by an oncoming large truck. Simultaneously, another large truck passing in the opposite lane led to a situation where the sedan was wedged between the two trucks. The small car was severely crushed and deformed, with all 5 occupants sustaining fatal injuries except for the front passenger, and both truck drivers also suffering injuries.
