Popular member of the South Korean boy group NCT, Doyoung, released his debut solo album “Youth” on April 22nd. He recently held an interview with Taiwanese media to discuss his album and aspirations. Doyoung expressed his desire to be a source of strength and light for others, inspired by the support of his fans.
Regarding the theme of his album revolving around youth, Doyoung shared that his youth was spent with his fellow group members, and he wanted to incorporate the experiences and thoughts gained from their performances and activities into his music.
In the song “Little Light,” Doyoung conveyed deep emotions, explaining that he tried to infuse all his feelings of youth into the music. He specifically highlighted the song “Little Light” as embodying the emotions he feels during his brightest moments.
Describing his youth in colors, Doyoung likened it to the color blue, aiming to encapsulate the essence of his youthful experiences in the album’s music and visuals. He recommended the songs “Little Light” and “Beginning” as tracks that best represent his current self and his desire to shine.
The lyrics of the title track “Little Light” emphasize how his own light can become a source of strength for others, reflecting Doyoung’s gratitude towards his fans for their unwavering support. Through his music, he aims to convey love and comfort to his listeners.
Doyoung expressed his gratitude for the collaboration with senior artist Taeyeon and fellow member MARK on the song “Time Machine.” He praised the lyrics that suit MARK’s voice and appreciated the opportunity to work with them.

In terms of throat care, Doyoung shared that he uses warm masks to keep his throat warm and consumes immune-boosting supplements. He also expressed interest in trying a common Taiwanese remedy, boiled pear drink, for throat maintenance.
