The “Symbols, Civilization, Revelations” unearthed artifacts photo exhibition hosted by the Huamei Cultural and Art Center will open in Flushing on the 18th of this month. The exhibition showcases nearly a hundred collectible photos that challenge contemporary human origin theories. Its curator, scholar, and collector Xing Dakun expressed his hope that this exhibition will provoke people to contemplate fundamental questions such as “where do humans come from” and to find like-minded individuals for further in-depth research.
The exhibition is divided into 6 main themes, allowing viewers to see evidence of ancient wisdom such as the Tai Chi symbol, the 12 zodiac signs, and cosmic spacecraft that existed in prehistoric times. Xing Dakun mentioned that from a young age, he has been curious and imaginative about the universe and humanity, gradually realizing that modern science cannot explain everything.
“For example, the Taoist symbol of Tai Chi existed in China over 8,000 years ago, unrelated to present religions, so how is this possible?” Xing Dakun said. “Another example is the Western science’s view of the universe, it is merely a hypothesis on modern celestial bodies and the cosmos, lacking concrete evidence. Currently, science cannot explain many phenomena, which are contradictory…”
Through this exhibition, Xing Dakun aims to prompt people to consider the following three questions: (1) Has the starting point of humanity already been inscribed in the laws of the universe? (2) Is the evolution of civilization solely reliant on material and energy, or also constrained by information and causality? (3) When science, religion, and symbolic narratives intersect, how does humanity redefine itself?
He welcomes friends interested in the mysteries of life and the universe to visit and research together.
The photo exhibition will have a preview starting on October 1st, officially opening on October 18th, and concluding on November 18th. The opening hours are from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm daily.
