The 2024 “Woo Love Lifestyle Festival” in Taiwan kicked off with the country’s first overnight performance, featuring over 20 singers and performers from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Taiwan, keeping the music nonstop until daybreak. Even renowned astrologist Tang Qiyang couldn’t resist taking the stage, collaborating with the Golden Melody band “Mr. Mi” for the first time.
The “Woo Love Lifestyle Festival” took place last weekend (15th) at the Keelung Heping Island Geological Park, attracting night owls and music lovers to come together for a night of celebration. The biggest highlight of the first evening was the unexpected collaboration between Tang Qiyang and the band “Mr. Mi”.
As the band “Mr. Mi”, nominated once again for Best Band at the Golden Melody Awards, was halfway through their performance, they invited astrologist Tang Qiyang on stage to discuss the fortune of the upcoming Golden Melody Awards at the end of the month, causing continuous excitement among the audience.
Tang Qiyang was in high spirits and had the Golden Melody band accompany her as she performed “Give Me a Kiss” and “Stars Fill the Sky”. The lead singer of the band, Shenghao, praised Tang Qiyang’s singing talent, saying, “She sounds incredible.” Tang Qiyang, not holding back, jokingly said, “Are you going to make me sing ‘Chase’ next?”
Shenghao of “Mr. Mi” immediately helped Tang Qiyang find the key, and the two spontaneously sang a section of “Chase”, heightening the midnight atmosphere.
Following this, the duo performed “Addicted to Animals” by “Mr. Mi”, prompting the audience to light up their phones, creating a sea of lights in the venue. Watching the gentle swaying lights accompanying the soft melody, Tang Qiyang couldn’t help but exclaim, “So romantic.”
The collaboration between Tang Qiyang and “Mr. Mi” had been kept secret until then. A member of the band jokingly said, “From the first rehearsal, all worries and uncertainties disappeared. Teacher Tang’s voice is truly amazing, and she looked very comfortable on stage. It was an unexpected and delightful collaboration experience.”
Tang Qiyang also revealed that she had been preparing for this collaboration for a month, stating, “Mr. Mi is a reassuring partner to work with, and fortunately, during rehearsals, they found me ‘teachable’!” She expressed openness to continuing to explore other cross-genre collaborations in the future.
