“Tears of the Queen” Surpasses “Crash Landing on You” in Ratings, Setting a Record

Aired on the 14th, the highly popular Korean drama “Queen of Tears” set a new record of over 23% viewership in the capital region with its 12th episode. The drama not only continues to break its own viewership records but also surpassed “Crash Landing on You” and “Goblin”, landing the top spot in viewership for Korean tvN dramas.

Penned by Park Ji-eun, known for hit dramas like “My Love from the Star”, “The Legend of the Blue Sea”, and “Crash Landing on You”, the latest Korean drama “Queen of Tears” starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won premiered on March 9th with a nationwide viewership rating of 5.853% and 6.495% in the capital region.

Since its premiere, the drama’s viewership ratings have been steadily climbing. On April 6th, the 9th episode achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 15.570% and 17.236% in the capital region. The 10th episode, aired on the 7th of this month, not only reached a nationwide viewership rating of 18.952% but also surpassed 20% in the capital region for the first time, reaching an impressive 20.926%.

Following the latest broadcast of the 12th episode on the evening of the 14th, tvN announced on the 15th afternoon via their official Twitter account that “Queen of Tears” achieved a high viewership rating of 23.072%, surpassing the previous record of 22.677% set by “Crash Landing on You” and the highest rating of 21.575% from “Goblin”, making it the viewership champion in the capital region among all tvN dramas.
