Chinese Actress Tang Wei and South Korean Director Kim Tae-yong Celebrate 10th Wedding Anniversary
Chinese actress Tang Wei, known for her roles in various films, tied the knot with South Korean director Kim Tae-yong back in 2014. The couple has a seven-year-old daughter named Summer, and they are a happy and content family of three. Recently, Tang Wei took to Instagram to share a family photo to mark their 10th wedding anniversary, receiving blessings and well-wishes from many online users.
On July 12, Tang Wei posted a series of photos on Instagram showcasing a heartwarming family moment. In the midst of a summer day with the sun setting in the background, the trio dressed casually can be seen standing by a pond, admiring lotus flowers closely together, creating a touching silhouette. In one of the photos, Tang Wei even acted as a photographer, capturing a close-up shot of her daughter making a heart gesture with her hands. Kim Tae-yong, standing at the back, captured the fun moment of his wife and daughter in a single frame on his phone.
Interestingly, July 12 marked Tang Wei and Kim Tae-yong’s wedding anniversary. Tang Wei’s caption for the photos simply read “10 years” accompanied by a red heart symbol.
Tang Wei, who is currently 44 years old, first met Kim Tae-yong in 2010 while working on the film “Late Autumn”. They got married in 2014 and welcomed their daughter in August 2016, creating a harmonious and joyful family unit. Tang Wei had previously caused a stir when she did not post her own photo on her birthday but instead shared a heartwarming picture of Summer holding hands with her elderly grandfather, leading to speculations of marital issues. She later clarified that she chose to spend time with her child and father due to her father’s health concerns.
The movie “Wonderland,” released in South Korea in June this year, marks the second collaboration between Tang Wei and Kim Tae-yong after “Late Autumn.” During the press conference, when asked about working together again, Kim Tae-yong playfully remarked on stage, “I can see her on set and then at home, it’s very nice!”
In recent years, Tang Wei has achieved great success in the South Korean film industry. Her portrayal in “A Decision to Break Up,” directed by Park Chan-wook, earned her multiple awards, including Best Actress at the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards, the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards, and the 16th Asian Film Awards. She made history as the first foreign actress to win the Best Actress award at the Blue Dragon Awards, garnering significant attention in the industry.
Tang Wei’s rare sharing of a sweet family photo confirms that her marriage with Kim Tae-yong is still filled with love and happiness. Despite their language barrier – with Tang Wei not fluent in Korean and Kim Tae-yong not proficient in Mandarin – the couple primarily communicates in English, showing that language differences do not hinder their strong bond and affection for each other.
