Tamao Yuzawa and Takuya Kimura co-star in the movie adaptation of a popular Japanese drama.

On June 18, it was announced by 2PM member Ok Taecyeon’s agency 51K that he will star in the movie version of the popular Japanese drama “Grand Maison Tokyo” titled “Grand Maison Paris”. The film is set to be released in Japan this winter.

The movie “Grand Maison Paris” is a continuation of the 2019 Japanese drama “Grand Maison Tokyo”, which tells the story of top chefs “Natsu Kiha” and “Michiru Sawami”, played by Kimura Takuya and Suzuki Kyoka, who after receiving three Michelin stars at the “Grand Maison Tokyo” restaurant in Japan, travel to the birthplace of French cuisine, Paris, to create a new restaurant “Grand Maison Paris” and strive to earn Michelin stars once again.

Not only does the movie “Grand Maison Paris” bring back the original cast of Kimura Takuya, Suzuki Kyoka, Masaki Suda, and Kawakita Hiro, from the drama, but it also invites Ok Taecyeon from the popular Korean boy group 2PM to participate. Ok Taecyeon will play a Korean-Canadian pastry chef who opposes the main character “Natsu Kiha”.

What’s special is that Ok Taecyeon will use his native languages, Korean and Japanese, as well as French in the movie, portraying a talented pastry chef with a deep passion for cooking.

Ok Taecyeon expressed, “I am very excited to work with Kimura Takuya, whom I have always admired. I feel honored to be part of such a great project. The experience of working with staff from different countries in Japan and Paris has provided me with a lot of motivation. If I can completely immerse myself in the character I play and become that character entirely, I feel confident that I can take on new challenges at any time.”

Regarding the movie’s content, Ok Taecyeon said, “Just like ‘Team Grand Maison’ that struggles to earn three Michelin stars, I hope that those who watch this film can gain the courage to pursue their dreams knowing that someday those dreams will come true.”
