Taiwanese Tech Company Leads Market with Launch of Smart Patrol Robot

Taiwanese high-tech company Agape-1 Technology has recently introduced an intelligent autonomous patrol robot with artificial intelligence technology as its core in response to the increasing theft and homelessness issues in the Bay Area.

The A-1 Security Robot of Agape-1 Technology, led by Dr. Howard Ho, a Yale University graduate, is composed of an electric vehicle platform and a humanoid robot part. The electric vehicle is equipped with functions such as automatic positioning, navigation, obstacle avoidance, and target tracking. The platform is fitted with various sensors including optical radar, ranging cameras, cameras, and microphones to collect surrounding information. It also includes devices such as warning lights, sirens, and speakers for alerting purposes.

Dr. Ho stated that the company’s core technology is the Crime Detection System developed based on AI and multimodal large language models. This system collects environmental and personnel information through sensors to determine any abnormal situations and promptly alert the control center. If suspicious individuals are detected, the system can provide voice warnings or inquiries, and has the ability to detect suspicious weapons, effectively reducing crime risks.

Dr. Ho mentioned that MMLLM is the latest AI technology which, combined with image recognition and other AI technologies, has realized advanced functionalities of intelligent patrol robots. He added, “We are advancing with the latest wave of technology, leading the frontier of AI applications. We have applied for four patents with the US Patent Office to protect our unique invention.”

CEO Dr. David Fong stated, “The company has a strong R&D team, with seven senior technology PhDs leading young engineers to explore innovation. Additionally, the company has experienced marketing professionals dedicated to enhancing the corporate image. We are currently in talks with technology companies in Taiwan for supply chain and high-intensity processor collaborations, while planning for product assembly and testing in cooperation with Taiwanese-owned factories in Mexico.”

Co-founder Mr. Ted Lee, an honorary doctor at Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan, expressed, “We have faced challenges along the way, successfully developing the third generation prototype. This is not mere talk, but a product of diligent efforts, gradually developed intelligent products that far surpass AI technologies that cannot be practically applied.”

According to Dr. Lee, Agape-1 Technology’s large patrol robots are suitable for places such as shopping malls, parking lots, university campuses, airports, and ports, effectively addressing the difficulties faced by security personnel during tired, monotonous, or late-night shifts, becoming a “loyal partner” to the police and security industry.

Furthermore, the robot has logical reasoning and organized dialogue functions, capable of calming and pacifying out-of-control crowds. The system will also be equipped with mechanical arms that can spray water, further achieving the goal of preventing crime and safeguarding the community, becoming a valuable assistant to police and security personnel.

Established in 2018, Agape-1 Technology is headquartered in San Jose. Since its establishment, the company has been operating based on self-financing and conducted Series A funding in the summer of 2024 to accelerate product development. In December 2023, the company successfully completed the research and testing of the first A-1 Security Robot and achieved its first sale in June of this year. Agape-1 plans to conduct its initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq in 2025.
