Taiwanese Military Detects 44 Chinese Communist Ships Operating in the Taiwan Strait, closely monitoring the situation.

【Epoch Times, May 27, 2025】 The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated that from 6 a.m. on the 26th until 6 a.m. today (27th), a total of 44 Chinese Communist Party (CCP) aircraft and ships were detected operating around the Taiwan Strait, with the Taiwanese military closely monitoring and responding to the situation.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China disclosed the dynamics of CCP activities in the airspace around the Taiwan Strait, revealing that from 6 a.m. on the 26th until 6 a.m. today, a total of 34 instances of CCP aircraft crossing the median line of the strait and entering the northern, southwest, and southeast airspace, along with 9 CCP warships and 1 government ship, making up a total of 44 CCP aircraft and vessels continuing their activities around the Taiwan Strait.

According to a diagram released by the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China today, CCP’s activities in the airspace around the Taiwan Strait were monitored from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 26th, with 13 instances of CCP fighter jets crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait; from 1:05 p.m. to 3:16 p.m. in the eastern airspace, CCP drones were detected once.

From 8:25 a.m. on the 26th until 6 a.m. today, the Taiwanese military detected 20 instances of CCP fighter jets, support aircraft, and drones in the southwest airspace of Taiwan, with flight paths extending to the southeast airspace of Taiwan.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China pointed out that the Taiwanese military is closely monitoring and responding using reconnaissance planes, ships, and shore-based missile systems.

The Ministry of National Defense also announced that on the 29th, CCP will launch a carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, flying in the direction of the western Pacific and passing through Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

Furthermore, at 11:10 a.m. today, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China issued a press release stating that since 8:15 a.m., CCP J-16s, KJ-500 AEW&C aircraft, and various types of fighter jets and drones have been detected engaging in maritime activities, with 27 instances in total, including 18 instances crossing the median line and its extension into the northern, central, eastern, and southwest airspace of Taiwan in conjunction with CCP ships conducting “joint readiness patrols.”

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China emphasized that the Taiwanese military is closely monitoring through joint intelligence surveillance means and appropriately responding by deploying reconnaissance planes, ships, and shore-based missile systems.
